Quantity to buy

Plan portions of wild game according to the number of people being served, the type of cut, and the amount of trimming required. Bone-in cuts and heavily trimmed meat yield less edible food than boneless portions.

Buy or prepare only what can be refrigerated promptly or frozen safely. When sharing harvested meat, divide it into meal-sized packages and label each package with its contents and packaging date.
